On the Ledge…Literally!!

DSCN6637

Hello,

I hope you are having an amazing weekend-or have had an amazing weekend keeping in mind that Sunday is coming to a close.

N/B: If you are alarmed by the picture above, don’t be; I wasn’t so far from the ground – just one storey high….Actually that could be high for some of you, I presume. I grew up as a tomboy, climbing trees was kinda my forte, so I got this 🙂 .

It has been a whole day of studying for me – I am prepping for my final undergrad exams that will be running for the next two weeks. Finally, the last leg is here!! ❤ ❤

I am literally on the edge of closing that chapter of my life and getting ready to move on to the next one. It is an exciting experience as well as terrifying may be, I don’t know. I will just have to wait and see (as I give my best in everything I do) what the future holds for me.

The picture explains somewhat everything I am feeling; I can feel the sun on my skin and it is beautiful, but I am still on the ledge- the scary part.

I am however hopeful as an angel sent from above (my mother) taught me the principle of hard work. If any of you are at a similar stage as I am, just remember working hard never failed anyone. Its rewards are endless – this is what I will keep in mind as I leave campus.

Thanks for reading,

Much love,

Wait a Minute!!! Part 1

od selfie 2

The smile on my face can tell you exactly how I feel. This picture was taken right after I presented my final year thesis. Damn, the joy is overwhelming. Pictured with me is my best friend Daisy.., the excitement after 5 years of school is just beyond 🙂 .

I must tell you the thesis took 90% of my time and all I was thinking about is “thesis, thesis, thesis…..” I have so much free time now, I feel guilty when I am not working. Then out of the blue, a thought pops into my head saying, “Wait a minute…You are almost done with school,” and a smile like that paints my face all over again.

Power dressing is important. Everyone had t bring their A-game. Pictured above is my another close friend of mine Dennis-looking sharp buddy!!

I have never shared official looks on my blog but I think it’s important that you know I always opt for pearl  necklaces for an official look. Let me know what’s your go-to accessory when it comes to dressing for work or something.

ODefence selfie

To my #selfiebuddy Michael. What a day it was!! Just so you know, I am loving the afro 🙂

The top that you see me wearing is actually this dress that I has been in my closet for quite a while. I was so focused on my thesis that 3 days before my presentation I didn’t know what I was going to wear. From this experience I learnt that styling is key, you don’t have to have new items every single time to look good.

An afternoon of the selfies with my Fav peeps, as we prepare to take a bow before we close the campus life chapter of our lives.

As always thanks for reading,

4 ways to spice up your Bodycon Dress!!!

4 ways bodycon

Hello everybody!!

I got something exciting and different for you today, I do hope you will enjoy the ride:)

I thank heavens for the person who introduced bodycon dresses to the world…it is a staple in a woman’s wardrobe. I don’t think there is anything sexier 🙂 . These types of dresses make such a statement that one would shy away from wearing it again from fear of everyone recognising it 😦 . You do not want to go to a party or whatever and everyone is like, “Is this the dress you wore at at that event…blah blah blah”

I have 4 ways to show you how you can spice it up.

1.Super Casual

Casual

Be as comfortable as possible in your bodycon by creating a casual look.

You will need 5 items for this;

  1. Denim sleeveless jacket/shirt
  2. A colorful sling bag
  3. A belt
  4. A necklace.
  5. A pair of rubber shoes.

You can combine them as I have and also play around with the colours to what suits you best.

2.Vest-it-Up

vest-it-up

You can get an official look with your bodycon. You will need 3 items;

  1. A simple vest
  2. Good pair of shoes 🙂
  3. A brooch/ accessory 🙂

I kept it simple b using the 3 items above. #Note: you can always play around with accessories.

3.Just-a-Sweater-Top

sweater top + pink belt

This is another sort of official look, however it can turn to a casual look, by having casual shoes on. See how shoes are important in elevating a look and as well creating a subtle look.

All you need;

  1. A sweater top
  2. A gorgeous belt
  3. + Good pair of shoes 🙂

You can match it up as I did or change it up by having casual shoes on for a more subtle look. You can also play around with bold colours-I can see that in my head already-“it looks good 🙂 “

All Black Everything!!

dark knight

Now this is my favorite look!! Welcome to my dark side!! ha ha ha ha ha!!!

I bought the skirt above a few months ago and had no idea of how I would style it. I am glad it fit perfectly with my black bodycon dress.

This is what you will need for this look;

  1. A pair of black boots
  2. A sexy skirt 😉
  3. A pair of glasses

This is my personal style, I don’t know if anyone would rock this, but if you are daring enough, go for it!!

Art Walk: Valentine’s Edition; at Kuona Trust Art Centre

DSCN6715

What would you wear to an art event?

This is the question that kept ringing in my head a few days before this event. I bet some of you guys-like myself, always want to look the part for any event/occasion they get to attend.

First let me acknowledge the beautiful glass art standing behind me.

I have come to learn, that you do not have to ponder about it.

You will always have a notion of what to wear to what event, if not you can always ask somebody.

In my opinion, I would suggest all manner of prints for artsy events. Go all out, mix and match your favourite prints. Be bold enough to take that step, as you will be expressing your own kind of art 🙂

For the Art Walk, I decided to wear my bold printed animal print that I wore here and styled it a little different. It was more of mixing shades of brown, as you can see from my necklace, to my stacked boots and my waist belt.

Can you notice how one item-(the belt) transformed the dress completely!! (If you compare the different ways I styled it.)

DSCN6711A few pieces I loved by creative artists I met at the event. If you like any f her stuff, you can contact her here. Below are some of her pieces including phone and tablet covers.

Sequins and a Short Skirt + these cool glasses!!

DSCN6613

There are times you look into your brimful wardrobe and you get the feeling that you don’t have any clothes to wear!!!( Holla if you feel me 🙂 )

This is the feeling I had the other day when I was trying to pick out what to wear. Every time I get this feeling, I tell myself to change things a bit. The task of incorporating outfits that you have never paired before can be a little tricky-but at the end it’s always worth it; as you get to explore your personal style and in doing so- your style evolves beautifully.

DSCN6626

I decided to pair my bold printed skirt with a tight-fitting black sequin vest. It’s more of playing with geometry shapes. When the skirt/trouser is a loose fit, I normally g for a tight fitting top or blouse and vice-versa. Please note that this is not a rule set in stone. You can always play with different outfits to your liking.

I completed the look with my black blazer with gold sequins on the shoulders. It has a nice cut and edges that matches perfectly with my sort of-bubble skirt.

I wore my favorite heels to elongate my look and the sunglasses(borrowed) just because I thought they looked good 🙂

Lucia’s Bloggers Giveaway + hellofood Kenya

IMG_3380

Amazing blogger Lucia Musau has a Bloggers Valentine Giveaway on her blog. She is one of the Kenyan bloggers that I am an avid reader of. She is giving upcoming bloggers like myself a chance to showcase their work – that is if we get the chance to win the giveaway

She is in collaboration with hellofood Kenya, who were kind enough to give her a few goodies and out of her golden heart-(it has to be..) has decided to share it with her fellow bloggers.

To be eligible for the competition, I have to answer a few questions, so here goes:

1. How does online food delivery make your life easier?

Food delivery always comes in handy especially if I do not have time to prepare the food I want or whatever I am craving for.

2. Having visited hellofood.co.ke, I think it is fantastic as I get the chancing of having food delivered from restaurants of my choice. However they should consider having  deliveries all over Nairobi and add more restaurants.

3. What more would you like to see more on luciamusau.comI would love to see a shoe and bag collection. I think she has an amazing taste in those.

X fingers hoping to stand a chance to win!!

Much love ❤ ❤ ❤

Super Late on Tribal Print

DSCN6596Hello,

To let you in on what my week has been- I have had to do two papers this week. So it has been loads of late night reading, discussions and early runs in the morning. Yea, I started this workout/how I start my day regimen by running a kilometre or so at around 5.30am but mostly at 6.00am and 6.30am when it’s hard for me to get out of bed 🙂 . I would really love to know about your work out routines – so you can leave a comment down below

Well, that was my life this week. I however managed to dress up a little as I was “exam-free”-if that’s a word, midweek, and I thought it would be nice to share it with you wonderful people.

DSCN6592

To be honest with you guys, I have had this dress for so long and I have never put it on-at all! Yea, I know it’s sad-considering how gorgeous it is. Bodycon tribal print is that it is an eye-catcher that you don’t really need accessories.

The only accessories I have on is my beaded bracelet-and I am good to go…oh + a good pair of striking red heels!!

That’s it guys, It’s always lovely to come here to talk to you!! Let me know how you would dress up your bodycon tribal print. I could learn a thing or two 🙂

#Mike and Daisy, thank you for taking my pics

Stripped Maxi Dress + a little confidence

IMG_6360

I got a new post for the week. It’s all about The Striped Maxi Dress.

I bought this dress a few years back and it is always my go to when i want something pretty and simple.

This pictures were taken last year-I don’t know why I took so long to share them with you 😦

I paired it with my simple short sleeve black blazer and Masai sandals.

IMG_6367Guys!!! We were daring enough to take pics in Lifestyle. At some point one of the guards came to inform us of the “No photography policy”. Its funny how with every single photo shoot, I am more confident. I know, if I tell you I am a shy girl, you wouldn’t believe me.
