Hey guys!! Hope you all had an amazing weekend, I know mine was interesting in so many ways. I was in Kibwezi from Friday and I travelled back on Saturday with my colleagues – If you read one of my earlier posts I had mentioned that I am currently an intern. Kibwezi was interesting apart from the heat that got my lips dry and being told to watch out for snakes! The word “snakes!” gives me the hibbie jibbies! Luckily we did not come across any – I thank God. As for my lips I am using a beauty scrub that I just mixed up in the kitchen to exfoliate the dead skin. I will share that soon 🙂
Today, I am going to share a nail art!! I came across it on YouTube and I had to try it myself. It is called Water Marble art and it is so interesting, I hope some of you will try it out.
Following the numbered images above; all you need is two colours of Nail polish or more but make sure it is of the same brand – I was using a Purple-No.4 and a White-No.FT201 Luron nail polish. You also need some tape, nail polish remover, cotton wool and cotton buds. The nail cutter is just for you to cut your nails to the preferred length and file them to the preferred shape. Personally, I don’t like long nails.
You will also need a round tin and distilled water. You can use a round glass or whatever floats your boat. The key is to have a smaller surface of water where you can put the drops of the nail polish. Note: You have to use distilled water – do not use tap water at all! -The polish would just disperse in the water. The images are kind of self explanatory; all you have to do is keep adding the drops of nail polish one after another on the same spot till you get something like what’s on No.3.
After achieving the pattern you like; dip your nail in it! Yes it is that simple. The tape is for you to place around your fingers so that the nail polish just sticks to your nail. If you look at picture labelled No. 1 you an see some tape around my fingers. The cotton buds and cotton wool is for a little bit clean up if the polish touches the skin around your nails.
I have noticed I do not have as many pictures i.e; a step by step procedure but you will have to forgive me as creating this was quite troublesome. I was doing all of this at Daisy’s place – my best friend and we kept laughing at some of the fails, hehehe! I was using bottled water as I could not get distilled water; but it should work perfectly. I have tried this before and I used a different brand of bottled water- Quencher; and it was great. However this time around I just picked a random bottled water on the shelf assuming they are all the same; it gave me a lot of work as the nail polish wouldn’t behave as I would want it to. I am sorry if the post is too wordy- but I feel like I should share all of this.
After a number of trials; this is what we got!
PS; I am working on my dry lips 🙂
This is it guys; I really want to know what you think of this kind of art. looking forward to reading your comments.
Have a lovely day.
Much love ❤ ❤ ❤
Hey guys! I went to Kenya Fashion Awards! I heard about the event like 3 weeks ago and I knew I couldn’t afford to miss it! This was my kind of paradise as they were going to showcase different outfit designs and given how much I love dressing up! I had to attend! No questions asked. As you can see I chose a black body con dress and matched it with my colour block heels and mustard clutch bag. I had my red matte lipstick on and a simple orange necklace. You can always play with loads of colour if you have a black dress on 🙂 .
A few days before the event I was scared because I didn’t know what I was going to wear. I sent pictures to my sister and my best friend to help me decide as I was torn between two dresses. The night before; that is Friday evening I had my mind set on this black dress.
The event was held at Alliance Francaise and it was beautifully organized. It was supposed to start at 6.30 pm but it started at around 7.30 pm. Please note that I am not complaining as I was 30 minutes late -the delay favored me 🙂 . I met so many designers and got to see their work on the runway. The models rocked the runway showcasing the different pieces and I would just drool at some of the dresses! #Flawless!
Couture Africa magazine giveaways. I was having a hard time selecting one but after going through them I made my decision.
My ticket to the event.
That’s it for this week and thanks a lot for stopping by.
Much love ❤ ❤ ❤
Someone please take me for a walk! – that is how I feel in this outfit. This look is meant for a Sunday afternoon; holla if you feel me 🙂 . I am going to start with the very comfortable rubber shoes. I so love the checkered print on it, and the pink stripes in it. Moving on to my tights that I wore here are so perfect as the fabric is real good. I have not been able to find a similar fabric but if you know of a place I can get good tights let me know. Now to the soft pink top; I love it a lot. First, I love the colour. Second the writings on it – Here goes “Life was much easier, arem…blah blah blah blah blah” I guess the person responsible for designing it was drunk or something 🙂 .
Peach-orange, I think that’s the colour. I am talking about my bag. It fits perfectly with this whole look. Don’t you agree? I think it’s the feminine version of a back pack. It has enough space where I can throw my stuff – as we (girls) move around with a lot!
My nails have kind of grown without me noticing as mostly I love them short. I filed them to achieve the appropriate shape and I think they look great #nonailpolish.
I have something planned for next week’s post, so watch out for that!!
As always thanks for stopping by and please keep warm.

This right here is one of my favorite dresses. It is free and the neutral animal print is just amazing! It makes it possible for me to rock it with various colors of accessories or pairs of heels. I have won this dress once; and I had coupled it with a black belt-this was when I attended a certain school dinner. I decided not to include the belt this time around because I love experimenting! I must say I was happy with it. The bust level is kind of low so I wore a black body suit to fill that up.
The colour block heels did justice to this black and white wild print as it makes the look more vibrant.
The only accessory I put on was the “tiny handbag” necklace – it adds a lil bit of feminine touch to the whole look ❤
Thanks for reading ❤ ❤ ❤ , and don’t forget to keep warm.
