What would you wear to an art event?
This is the question that kept ringing in my head a few days before this event. I bet some of you guys-like myself, always want to look the part for any event/occasion they get to attend.
First let me acknowledge the beautiful glass art standing behind me.
I have come to learn, that you do not have to ponder about it.
You will always have a notion of what to wear to what event, if not you can always ask somebody.
In my opinion, I would suggest all manner of prints for artsy events. Go all out, mix and match your favourite prints. Be bold enough to take that step, as you will be expressing your own kind of art 🙂
For the Art Walk, I decided to wear my bold printed animal print that I wore here and styled it a little different. It was more of mixing shades of brown, as you can see from my necklace, to my stacked boots and my waist belt.
Can you notice how one item-(the belt) transformed the dress completely!! (If you compare the different ways I styled it.)
A few pieces I loved by creative artists I met at the event. If you like any f her stuff, you can contact her here. Below are some of her pieces including phone and tablet covers.
Ooh, didn’t notice that beige bag at the back.
Without further ado,
Thanks for reading 🙂

To let you in on what my week has been- I have had to do two papers this week. So it has been loads of late night reading, discussions and early runs in the morning. Yea, I started this workout/how I start my day regimen by running a kilometre or so at around 5.30am but mostly at 6.00am and 6.30am when it’s hard for me to get out of bed 🙂 . I would really love to know about your work out routines – so you can leave a comment down below
Well, that was my life this week. I however managed to dress up a little as I was “exam-free”-if that’s a word, midweek, and I thought it would be nice to share it with you wonderful people.
To be honest with you guys, I have had this dress for so long and I have never put it on-at all! Yea, I know it’s sad-considering how gorgeous it is. Bodycon tribal print is that it is an eye-catcher that you don’t really need accessories.
The only accessories I have on is my beaded bracelet-and I am good to go…oh + a good pair of striking red heels!!
A simple beautiful look, just how I love it ❤ ❤
That’s it guys, It’s always lovely to come here to talk to you!! Let me know how you would dress up your bodycon tribal print. I could learn a thing or two 🙂
#Mike and Daisy, thank you for taking my pics
Thanks for stopping by,
Much Love ❤ ❤ ❤
On this day, I was just chilling at home nothing much to do. I look at my plain nails, and I decided they need a “face-lift”. I was going to write “nail-lift” but the sound of that is really ouch!! sorry!! – what is written can not be erased!! hahaha..”evil laughter!!!”
There goes stupid me :).
The beautiful piece of art resting on my nails include; Luron 77, 40 and 26. Each for around 95/=
I used one layer of base coat on my nails and two coats of Luron 40 on all my fingers except the ring finger.
I think accent nails are really cool and very awesome!..I had to do it. I used Luron 77 – my current favorite and Luron 26. I applied a base coat, followed by Luron 26 and two coats of Luron 77 to get the dark finish.
I am currently obsessed with shimmer nail polish, I am thinking of getting a quite a number of different colours.
My sister’s legs in the background
My phone had to go through weird angles!!, haha…trying to get the best shot!! or an interesting shot!! by whatever means!!
If my hand was to be a flower, I think this hibiscus would be the perfect fit!!
The deep pink in the middle invited me to pluck it.
Do share what’s on your nails, and as always thanks for reading!!
Much love ❤ ❤
Hey guys!! Hope you all had an amazing weekend, I know mine was interesting in so many ways. I was in Kibwezi from Friday and I travelled back on Saturday with my colleagues – If you read one of my earlier posts I had mentioned that I am currently an intern. Kibwezi was interesting apart from the heat that got my lips dry and being told to watch out for snakes! The word “snakes!” gives me the hibbie jibbies! Luckily we did not come across any – I thank God. As for my lips I am using a beauty scrub that I just mixed up in the kitchen to exfoliate the dead skin. I will share that soon 🙂
Today, I am going to share a nail art!! I came across it on YouTube and I had to try it myself. It is called Water Marble art and it is so interesting, I hope some of you will try it out.
Following the numbered images above; all you need is two colours of Nail polish or more but make sure it is of the same brand – I was using a Purple-No.4 and a White-No.FT201 Luron nail polish. You also need some tape, nail polish remover, cotton wool and cotton buds. The nail cutter is just for you to cut your nails to the preferred length and file them to the preferred shape. Personally, I don’t like long nails.
You will also need a round tin and distilled water. You can use a round glass or whatever floats your boat. The key is to have a smaller surface of water where you can put the drops of the nail polish. Note: You have to use distilled water – do not use tap water at all! -The polish would just disperse in the water. The images are kind of self explanatory; all you have to do is keep adding the drops of nail polish one after another on the same spot till you get something like what’s on No.3.
After achieving the pattern you like; dip your nail in it! Yes it is that simple. The tape is for you to place around your fingers so that the nail polish just sticks to your nail. If you look at picture labelled No. 1 you an see some tape around my fingers. The cotton buds and cotton wool is for a little bit clean up if the polish touches the skin around your nails.
I have noticed I do not have as many pictures i.e; a step by step procedure but you will have to forgive me as creating this was quite troublesome. I was doing all of this at Daisy’s place – my best friend and we kept laughing at some of the fails, hehehe! I was using bottled water as I could not get distilled water; but it should work perfectly. I have tried this before and I used a different brand of bottled water- Quencher; and it was great. However this time around I just picked a random bottled water on the shelf assuming they are all the same; it gave me a lot of work as the nail polish wouldn’t behave as I would want it to. I am sorry if the post is too wordy- but I feel like I should share all of this.
After a number of trials; this is what we got!
PS; I am working on my dry lips 🙂
This is it guys; I really want to know what you think of this kind of art. looking forward to reading your comments.
Have a lovely day.
Much love ❤ ❤ ❤
